The Dickinson County Democrats meet on the last Tuesday of every month. All are welcome to attend but only committeewomen and committeemen can vote on official matters. We alternate between meetings with speakers and social events.

HOLIDAY PARTY​​

The Dickinson County Democrats invite the public to their holiday party on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 7-9 pm at the Garfield Senior Living, 300 NW 7th Street, Abilene, KS, 67410.
The event will offer dinner and desserts with holiday accents. Special guests at the event include Democratic candidates Christy Cauble-Davis and Anne Parelkar, candidates for US Senate in 2026; Colin McRoberts, Democratic candidate for Kansas First Congressional District; and Kylie Kilmer, Democratic candidate for Kansas Legislature District 70. Lauren Reinhold, exploratory Democratic candidate for Kansas First Congressional District, will also attend.
“We invite our friends across Dickinson County to attend,” said Rebecca Perkins, chair of the Dickinson County Democrats. “Our community is strong, and we will take this opportunity to celebrate this year’s victories and hear from our candidates in the important elections next year.”
There is no charge to attend, but attendees are asked to bring items for the Abilene Area Food Pantry and gift items for nursing home residents, including large print word search and crossword books, personal hygiene products, and snacks.

15th ANNUAL PULLED PORK AND POLITICS DINNER

The Dickinson County Democrats invite the public to the 15th Annual Pulled Pork and Politics Dinner on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 6-8 pm at the Abilene Community Center, 1020 NW 8th Street.
The event will feature Democratic candidates Christy Cauble-Davis and Anne Parelkar, candidates for US Senate in 2026; Sen. Ethan Corson (D-7) and Sen. Cindy Holscher (D-8), candidates for Governor; Chris Mann, candidate for Attorney General; and Kylie Kilmer, candidate for Kansas Legislature District 70. Jeanna Repass, chair of the Kansas Democratic Party, is a special guest at the event.

WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, we honored Dr. Beatrice Brittan, Amanda Cormack, Donna Reynolds and Jo Schwartz as our 2025 Women of Excellence. We also recognized former resident Judy Burgess for her contributions.
